Students make up a huge part of any grassroots movement. Their energy and passion inspire volunteers and voters of any age. The more young people in a campaign, the livelier it gets. To beat Gordon Smith, we're going to need that fire.
A lot of students have already gotten involved in the campaign, and that's good news. Youth turnout is increasingly key to Democratic victories. Two stories from 2006 prove it. In Montana, over 39,000 more young people turned out to vote than in the previous election. Jon Tester won by only 3,000 votes. In Virginia, over 110,000 more 18-29 year olds voted and Jim Webb won by less that 10,000 votes. More and more, young people are deciding elections and they'll be vital in our fight to take down Gordon Smith.
So join up and help Steve bring real change to the U.S. Senate!

College Democrats are a great organization to help you get involved. Why not go to a meeting and talk about Steve? Oregon's College Dems are disciplined, devoted and pretty darn dazzling, so they're great for political discussion.
